Jefton Sungkar is an artist who’s main theme is;
Confrontation with existential mystery.
He works in the intersection of mysticism, shamanism, psychedelic exploration, and sacred geometry.
Painting for Jefton began as a process of self-guided therapy, learning to process complex and painful emotions while physically moving paint. This tool for intuitive self-healing has given way to a process of returning home to his inner truths.
Painting became the thread guiding him through the labyrinth of inner and outer life, where the two worlds can interface coexist in harmony.
The work
The artworks are an invitation into a state of being, leading the viewer into a glimpse of something beyond the veil of ordinary perception.
The paintings act simultaneously as windows and mirrors. A window into the artist’s inner landscape — a state beyond space and time that is equally present within the viewer, therefore simultaneously becoming a mirror for their own inner space.
